Berries

For those of you who are able to enjoy strawberries without any adverse reactions, congratulations.
I on the other hand am allergic.
It's nothing life threatening and if I wanted I could eat them, but I really don't want the heat rash type breakout that follows.

So since I'm allergic to strawberries I turn my attention to other, less praised berries.

blackberries
contains vitamins C & E as well as ellagic acid..
these all help protect against cancer and chronic diseases
source
raspberries
these little berries have been found to help
prevent macular degeneration.
source
blueberries
quite possibly the healthiest fruit there is,
ranked #1 in antioxidant capacity.
source

& Cherries
powerful stuff here,
it's rich in queritrin- a potent anti-cancer agent...also it's
chocked full of compounds that fight arthritis and migraine pain
source
So the next time you go to the produce section of the grocery store, don't just reach for the strawberries.
Try some of these other super awesome berries!
But if you are able to eat....
Strawberries
don't despair, they are quite healthy also...
it's a heart protective, anti-cancer, anti-inflammatory fruit

Go!
Spring is here and these fruits are already starting to hit the produce aisle!
Eat up and enjoy!
I hope you have a BLESSED Tuesday!

  3. Seriously craving some fresh berries after seeing your pictures! One of my sons has many food allergies so we are very adept at looking at foods from a different angle like you do.

  4. GREAT berry
    review Biz and
    I might add one
    other motherly
    piece of advice:
    go organic!! Berries
    are number one on
    the "Dirty Dozen;"
    food that is most
    important to buy organic.
    Their skins are so
    thin that they absorb
    pesticides easily. Although
    I don't think that
    blackberries necessarily
    have a lot of pests : )
    Okay, lecture over.
'Lots of love to you, today!
    xx Suzanne
