For 4 weeks from 6:30-9 I'll be learning to make a basic lap/baby quilt.
I'm so excited!
My Grandma is excited!
When I told her today she made sure to tell me that I should go get a Cutting Board, Rotary Cutter, & a Quilt Ruler and then I am supposed to tell her how much I spent so she can send me a check!
That's her birthday gift to me. (P.S. My birthday is October 16, fast approaching...haha)!
Grandpa, Grandma, Me & Bud on our last visit to Maui. My grandparents are young if you ask me! I can only hope I age as gracefully as Grandma! |
Seriously, she sews, quilts, stamps, makes cards, makes jewelry, creates beautiful stain glass windows and much much more.
I seriously think it runs in the family, being crafty that is.
My Dad, that's his mom, he can sew, french braid hair (maybe that's not crafty but it's impressive), woodworking, draws (a lot of his drawing is similar to what you would see in a comic book...think Thor).
And now there is me....I only hope that someday I have children who have a desire to be crafty and to use their own hands to make something.
I find great joy in creating.
I find even more joy in giving gifts I've created.
So I guess we will have to see how this quilting class goes....I can only make so many quilts for myself before I'll need to start making them for others, taking orders....just kidding!
Well it's time to clean up, grocery shopping, sanding blocks, and working out....the only thing I'm ready to do now is shower and settle into bed!
Have a blessed Tuesday evening!

they could easily pass as your parents! the class sounds really fun! cant wait to see what you learn!
