Blocked

I didn't write last night.
Somehow, it went from being 8pm to 9:45pm in the blink of an eye and I was ready for bed, but I'm back tonight.

Tonight I'm suffering from writers block.
Nothing significant has happened.
Nothing necessarily good or bad has caught my attention.
What I can share though is a quote out of a book I'm reading right now called The Shack:

"Trust is the fruit of a relationship in which you know you are loved. Because you do not know that I love you, you cannot trust me". ~The Shack by Wm. Paul Young


As I contemplate that quote I realize something deep within myself.
I sometimes have a hard time trusting people, is it because I don't feel loved by them?
Do I put up a wall to protect myself and now I realize that wall is blocking out love too?
I feel, at times, that I give more love than I receive.
I think sometimes we get so wrapped up in our own motives that we forget to love those around us, friends, family, coworkers.
Since they don't feel loved by us they don't trust us.
How can a person who can't trust you put any confidence in you?
I think deep down conflicts that arise in our lives all come back to love & trust.

This is a short entry tonight.
Like I said, I'm suffering writers block.
But if you think about it, the next time you are around someone who you value try to do something to let them know you love/appreciate them.
It might be just that moment of vulnerability that will allow them to return the favor.
