Being Domesticated

In the weeks since school got out & I received my Associates I have finally started to reaquaint myself with being a domesticated housewife.  Well I'm only half domesticated.  I still have to work 40 hours a week, but once home there is still cleaning & cooking that needs to be done.  I signed up with an awesome program called e-mealz!  Each Tuesday I get a menu for 5 days worth of dinners feeding 2-3 people (there a many different plans).  The menu is on one side along with the instructions for cooking the mean.  On the back in the grocery list for your store of choice (mine being Walmart) and it's seperated by section.  The best part is that it caters to the fact that I chose a low-fat meal plan (other options include low-carb, or regular, etc) and it keeps my grocery bill around $45 for those dinners!  I am so excited to learn how to cook again.  I won't lie though, it can be frustrating when it takes me longer to prepare dinner because I'm doing something for the first time, but we haven't had a meal we didn't like!

Also, starting this Sunday we will be taking in a AFA Student for 20 days.  This opportunity was presented to anyone who had room for him to stay.  Well it just so happens we have a fully furnished guest room and an extra bathroom that we rarely use.  It also prompted me to get some much needed organizing and purging done.  Sunday My husband and I took on the task of emptying the guest closet and throwing out junk, donating misc items and only placing the items we wanted to keep back in the closet!  The amazing part is that now there is 1/2 a closet this student can use to hang clothes.  I emptied drawers and now he has room for clothes in drawers.  It was a great feeling knowing we were getting STUFF out of our lives and preparing for next year.  Next year this time we should be in the process of moving or planning on moving.  So by organizing stuff now it'll make my life easier next year when the movers come.  No unnecessary junk is coming with us!

Domestication- I like it.  I can't wait to do it full time.  1 more year until I quit my civilian job and start the life of an Officer's Wife!
