Baby Diaries #5

How far along? 19 weeks 1 day

Total weight gain/loss: I think about 9lbs so far.

Maternity clothes? I picked a dress and it arrived Friday!  For Bud's commissioining I'll be wearing....
now I just need to find shoes ;)
Stretch marks? Thankfully not yet.

Sleep: I have been sleeping fairly well for the past few weeks, except that I'm still battling dry mouth at night.  Any suggestions on how to beat this would be awesome, although because I've started to get congested it forces me to breathe through my mouth more which is counter productive.   I feel so dorky, but I have fallen in love with breathe right strips!

Best moment this week: A couple little popcorn popping sensations, indicating baby was moving around!

Movement: Like I just said, a few popcorn popping sensations.  Although it still doesn't seem real since it's not consistant.

Food cravings: Can't say that I have any.

Gender: Not sure yet, I've still got it in my head it's a little boy.  Just based on family history.  My Dad was one of 4 (3 boys), Father-in-law was one of 4 (3 boys), I was one of 4 (3 boys), and Bud was one of 4 (4 boys).  Only a week and a a half until we know for sure!!!

Labor Signs: NO! Thank you.

Belly Button in or out? Still an inney ;)

What I miss: Sleeping on my back.  I worked really hard to switch my habit of sleeping on my side to sleeping on my back and now it seems harder to revert back to side sleeping.  My body pillow helps somewhat, but more often than not it just seems to be in the way.

What I am looking forward to: ROTC Boat Party tonight, My Friend JM arriving Friday, my other friend JP arriving Saturday and my 1st Baby Shower Sunday!!!

Weekly Wisdom: In my experience it seems that lately I feel no guilt in sitting on the couch and watching television.  In fact it's just another form of resting as my round ligaments start to stretch and cause me sharp panges.

Your Baby in Week 19 of Pregnancy

Have you ever seen a mango dipped in cheese? Well, that's what your baby looks like this week due to a little growth spurt (she's about a half pound in weight and six inches long) and a substance called vernix caseosa. This greasy white stuff covers your baby's skin, protecting it from the surrounding amniotic fluid. (Without it, she'd look totally wrinkled as she entered the world.) The vernix sheds as delivery approaches, though some babies still sport a bit of the coating at birth.
Baby weighs about 8oz and is about 6 inches long.
The size of a large heirloom tomato!
I hope you all have a Blessed Monday!

I wish you could be here too, but I know good and well that would be quite a task ;)
I hope the kiddos get to feeling better soon!
