Bits-n-Pieces

So we are going to skip the Baby Diaries today.
Not much has happened since my appointment on Wednesday.
Instead let me catch you up on a few small things that happened here.

Friday Cappy had to have surgery.
He had a growth on his foot that we noticed about a year ago.
It was small and the doctor originally said we didn't need to worry about it.
But in the last 6 weeks it had quadrupled in size and started to change color.
We decided it was time for the Dr. to take a 2nd look.
This time it was decided that the mass needed to be removed.
Friday morning we dropped Cappy off.
The nurse began to go over the bill with me prior to surgery.
She mentioned a $180 charge for sending the biopsy in to find out what it was.
Bud and I had discussed this and honestly we didn't want to know what it was.
Cappy is 10-11 years old.
He's always been a happy dog.
So I told the nurse and I promise you would have thought I told her to kill the dog while he was on the operating table.
She tried to explain that there were low costs treatments if it was cancer.
I explained that I LOVE my dog, but we weren't interested in treatments or doing anything that might make him anything but Happy Cappy.
She tried to tell me I would have peace of mind if the test came back and it was malignant.
I told her we already had peace of mind not knowing.
Needless to say, we didn't have a biopsy done.
You can think I'm horrible, but sometimes when you have a big dog whose getting up there in years, you just know that making his last few years enjoyable are more important than pumping him full of meds that will make him tired and sad.
Cappy came through surgery with great success.
3 staples in his foot and this....
He has to wear it for 10-14 days.
Yes, that means he has to wear it for the duration of the move.
Not very convenient.
We are going to stop by the vet's office Wednesday night and see if they can take another look at his foot.
See how his healing is progressing.
Maybe, just maybe she'll say that he's healing faster than expected and he won't have to wear the "Cone of Shame" while we drive the 23 hours to North Carolina.

On another note.
I got to go see my hairdresser one last time!
I got my highlights touched up and a hair cut....
and if you look really closely you can see my FEATHER EXTENSION!
There are 2 purple-ish feathers and one white with black spots.
They are very subtle and should last a minimum of a month.
We will see about that.
It was a nice treat to sit in her chair for a few hours and chat.
However, I hate the fact that I need to find a new hairdresser once I get to North Carolina.
It's such a process!
People don't know what to do when they meet my hair.
It's half curly, half wavy and all crazy!
That's why I wear it straight a lot of the time.
Anyways that's all for now.
We have more packing to accomplish!

I hope you had a Blessed Sunday!
