Breakfast Bread

Do you like Peaches?
If so...this is the recipe for you!
Peaches and Cream Breakfast Bread (however, eating it at any time of day is acceptable!)
What You'll Need:
Peaches (a few should do)
1-1/2 cups flour (an additional 3 Tablespoons for other parts plus enough to flour your pan)
3/4 cup sugar (an additional 6 Tablespoons of sugar for other parts)
1/2 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons baking powder
1 large egg
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1/3 cup milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla
4 Tablespoons softened cream cheese
First things first slice up your peaches.
Then grease and flour your pan.
This is an important step...you don't want this yumminess to stick to the pan.
Preheat your oven to 350˚
Mix the 1-1/2 cups flour, 3/4 cups sugar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 2 teaspoons of baking powder.
Then add your egg, 1/3 cup vegetable oil, and 1/3 cup milk.
 Mix well!
Pour 1/2 into the bottom of your dish..
...place a layer of peaches (hindsight...put more peaches than pictured here!)
Cover that layer with remaining batter.
Add another layer of peaches (this is a good layer amount for the top layer)
In a separate bowl mix your softened cream cheese, vanilla, and 3 Tablespoons of sugar.
Place that mixture in a ziplock baggie...
 ...cut off one edge...
...and pipe it over your layer of peaches...use all of it!
next cut up 2 tablespoons of butter into itty bitty little bits and sprinkle (place haphazardly) on top of cream cheese mixture.
Now sprinkle 3 Tablespoons of flour and 3 Tablespoons of sugar on top of everything.
Bake for 35-40 minutes (it took me 40) until you can see the edges have browned.
Insert a toothpick to be sure it comes out clean indicating 'done-ness'.
Let this cool for at least 5 minutes, then gently use a knife to cut along the edge.
It should come out rather easily...and it'll look like this all golden brown!
Oh and here is what the inside will look like!
You can see why I urge using more peaches on that first layer...
Either way it's sooooo yummy!

I hope you enjoy your Breakfast Bread!
Have a Blessed Monday!

I wish it were peach season, here : )
And that I didn't have 5 lbs to lose!
I will definitely tuck it away, though.

  3. The ingredient list says 1/3 cup each milk and oil, but the directions say 1/2 cup each. Which is it? It looks delicious and I have peaches needing used.
