Bible Verse Friday #34

"So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable.  Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless." ~ 1 Corinthians 15:58

My NLT Life Application Study Bible says the following:

15:58 Paul says that because of the resurrection, nothing we do is useless.  Sometimes we become apathetic about serving the Lord because we don't see any results.  Knowing that Christ has won the ultimate victory should affect the way we live right now.  Don't let discouragement over an apparent lack of results keep you from doing the work of the Lord enthusiastically as you have opportunity.

Even as I write this post I feel that I've already written it before.
Maybe not this verse, but this basic concept.
From time to time it's easy to feel as if your life is in a rut.
Day in and day out you may feel that you are just hitting the repeat button.
When you have babies your life starts to get more scheduled than you ever thought possible.

I recently had a male friend ask, "What do you do all day? Watch Netflix?"
He didn't mean it in a negative way, he just didn't realize how much work is involved in having a little one.
My days start and are over before I realize it.
It's a cycle of wake up, eat, pump, play with baby, put baby down for nap, clean...repeat.
Over and over and over again.
The point I have to remind myself of is that "you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless".
Right now my phase of life has me raising one baby (later, Lord willing, it'll be more babies).
That is a big task!
I am supposed to raise this child up in the way that God would want them raised.
I am supposed to plant Gods seed in her little heart daily.
I may not be out spreading the word among the masses, but I am doing the Lords work in a different capacity and I must do it enthusiastically.

Maybe you don't have kids.
Maybe you go to work daily, do your work, come home and fulfill a regular routine, and start over again the next day.
Maybe you have MANY kids and you feel as though you never have a moment where you aren't scheduled and planned out.
Whatever your work is, remember to do it enthusiastically and do it for the Lord.
Don't fret if you don't see the results you want....
....when you want to see them.
One day you will wake up and look at your friends, family, coworkers and you'll know that you've been doing God's work and that someone was affected by it.
Remind yourself daily to:
Be Strong.
Be Immovable.
Work Enthusiastically.
And above all love HIM!

I pray you have a wonderful Easter Weekend and a Blessed Friday!
