Bible Verse Friday #23

"So think clearly and exercise self-control.  Look forward to the gracious salvation that will come to you when Jesus Christ is revealed to the world". ~1 Peter 1:13

We are 20 days into the New Year and for some of you that means you are 20 days strong on your New Years resolutions.
For others maybe not so much.
But fear not, for each day is a new day and a new beginning!
We are told in this verse to think clearly and exercise self-control.
..."think clearly"....
What does that mean to you?
To me it means, thinking before you speak.
It means never answering out of anger.
It means being rationale.
..."exercise self-control"...
I think we all know what this means.
But why is it so hard to do?
I mean seriously, if we go on a diet and we are trying to control what goes in our body..and then all of a sudden it seems like there are 'bad' things all around us!!!
Or, in my situation, when you decide it's time to crack down and consider a budget.
All of a sudden you become vastly aware of how much everything is and despite that there are still times when you just want to buy it because you want it now!
Just reading that sentence shows us all the things that are wrong with us, myself included!

I read somewhere that it takes 21 consecutive days to develop a habit...that being said, many of you are only 1 day away from being set in a routine, for some of us that may mean we are on day one and we only have 20 more days to go.  Not matter where you are on your goals the real goal is to remember that we need to move forward and look forward!

Our reward won't always just be about weight lost or debt paid/money saved...if we look forward we will see that a "gracious salvation" is waiting for us.

I hope that you are moving forward today and remembering who we are honoring in everything that we do!

Have a Blessed Friday!

P.S. Bitsy wants to wish her Daddy a VERY HAPPY BIRTHDAY today...
