I was staring at my baby girl and she was just grinning from ear to ear...
I asked myself...
When do we stop smiling at everything?
Why do we stop smiling at everything?
My baby girl smiles all day except when she is hungry, or tired, or needs a diaper change.
All of those things warrant an expression other than a smiling face.
I get that.
Yet when...
...she meets a new person she smiles.
She wakes up...she smiles.
She hears a funny noise...you guessed it....she smiles.
We do we stop smiling at everything?
And why?
It must have something to do with the same reason that kids are fearless until the first time they get hurt.
We smile until life gives us reasons not to.
I'm one of those people though..you know the kind.
I smile and nod at everyone who I make eye contact with.
I'm always amazed when I don't get a smile back..when instead I get a diverted eye...or a confused look.
More often than not, though, it's the look away and walk away.
I always wonder to myself, is it that hard to smile?
So as I look at this beautiful baby...who even in her sleep is grinning I challenge all of you to smile at everyone you see.
It costs you nothing.
It uses less muscles than frowning.
And you never know who will need that smile more than you!
I hope you all had a Blessed Monday!
P.S. I purchased a couple art canvas's for my bible verse subway art wall, now to pick verses!
I also picked up black satin spray paint to paint all my picture frames for the hallway gallery.
It's a start!

There have been several times when the kindness of a strangers smile has truly made my day. Great post my friend.
ReplyDeleteOh Biz, she
ReplyDeleteis just so yummy!
And I know what you
mean about smiling
at others and those
that don't smile back.
I just figure there is
more to their story;
a bad day, a sad life?
Here's hoping your
little sweetie has many
years of smiling ahead
of her ~ at everything!!
