...and a GIVEAWAY!
I like sports.
I don't necessarily know a lot about who plays or what teams are ranked what.
But I enjoy the energy of watching a football game with friends, I enjoy the rush of having a favorite team and watching them win, and I enjoy when sports figures use their fame to set good examples.
That is what drew me to this book/devotional.
In this devotional by Tony Dungy I was introduced to another side of the famous football coach.
A side that is God Fearing and word driven!
A side that is God Fearing and word driven!
This book has daily readings that cover 7 topics:
- Core
- Family
- Friends
- Potential
- Mission
- Influence
- Faith
I loved that each day's reading was a simple one page, starting off with a verse and ending with what the book refers to as an 'Uncommon Key' or a guide/inspiration for how to implement the word into your everyday thoughts or actions.
The wording is simple.
The message is straight forward.
The results are a devotional that takes fewer than 5 minutes out of your busy day!

I love what Coach Dungy says here, "...be uncommon. To live a life of significance, integrity, and a life full of purpose".
So often we want to do this, but we don't always know how. This book has a great way of inspiring us to act on those key characteristics!
Do you want to take the challenge?

I think this would be a great book for both me and my hubby to read! I have always admired Coach Dungy for many reasons---and always wished he would have been the Chiefs coach!:) Great giveaway, I think I need to put this on my to read list whether I win or not!
ReplyDeleteTo lead an "Uncommon Life"....I think for me that means to live the best life that I can. To be content with what I am but always striving to be better. To love hard, work hard, play hard and make an impact on those around me. Thats a hard question to answer my dear!:)
