Bible Verse Friday #20

'"You are blessed because you believed that the Lord would do what he said". Mary responded, "Oh, how my soul praises the Lord.  How my spirit rejoices in God my Savior!  For the Mighty One is holy, and he has done great things for me."' ~Luke 1:45-47, 49

We all forget now and again that the Lord will do what he said.
It happens that we allow the ways of the world to influence us and convince us that if we don't do it for ourselves it won't happen.
If we don't have it all than we have nothing.

But the Bible tells us in Matthew 6:25-30, 33
"That is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life-whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear...Look at the birds.  They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them.  And aren't you far more valuable to him then they are?  Can all your worries add a single moment to your life?  And why worry about your clothing?  Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow.  They don't work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are.  And if God cares so wonderfully for the wildflowers that are here today and thrown into the wildfire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you.  Why do you have so little faith?  Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need".

Do you ever find yourself worried?
Do you ever think that something you need will not be provided?
If so, maybe it's time to take a step back.
Re-evaluate the situation and let go of it.
Let God handle it.
Pray that God will provide for your needs.
That God will help you discern between need and want.

In this day and age it's easy to fall victim to thinking some desires are needs.
Yet if we focus on what we really need we usually can find that we have it.
Don't let this time of year taint you.
None of us needs most of the gifts we receive.
Those are wants that have been fulfilled.
If earthy entities can fulfill our wants than surely, without any hesitation, our heavenly Father can fulfill our our needs.

So with all the hustle and bustle of the Christmas shopping season...
STOP...
Take a step back...
recognize that you have all you need...
and thank HIM.

For Mary said it best when she said, "For the Mighty One is holy, and he has done great things for me."

I hope you had a blessed Friday!
