Buttons galore...

Would you like to know what I finished today?
Well let's get back to the beginning.
It started with purchasing buttons on eBay.
This is what 700 buttons looks like, in case you were wondering.
I also purchased this letter 'H' from here
This is what an 18" letter 'H' looks like, in case you were wondering.
I painted it black.
It's going on our gallery wall.
All the frames will be black so I figured if any of this peeked through it should blend with the frames.
Then I started adding buttons.
Actually, it sat painted on the dining room table for over a week.
I was afraid to start.
I'm a perfectionist.
Thus I was afraid it would turn out badly..
Finally, I started adding buttons.
Then I had to stop and didn't get back to it until tonight.
(That whole being a Mom thing kinda slowed my progress).
After about 90 minutes of straight hot glue to button action, and a few breaks to play 'Words w/ Friends'...here she is.

The only task left now is to go through and clean up all the hot glue cobwebs.
 Aren't buttons pretty though?
So many different kinds!
By the way I did not use all 700 buttons...
There are about 100 left.

I need to get to bed!

I hope you all had a Blessed Thursday!

  1. I saw these on Pinterest and every time I go to Goodwill I hope to see a big jar of buttons, no dice yet, but I have hope. I think yours looks great! Do you have a craft in mind for the leftovers?

  2. How fun! Looks great. I may need to make one for myself. J or S would look pretty cool. What a great gift idea too!

    1. I wanted bigger than what I could find at Hobby Lobby or Michael's otherwise those wood ones they sell would have been perfect!
I can't wait to see pictures of your initials! Are you simply painting them or are you doing something more?
Glad you like the new look :)
