Cinnamon Sugar Almonds

It's getting to be that time of year again!
The time when homes smell of baked goods and other such sweet concoctions.
I started a little early this year.
I wanted to give our neighbors a special something just because they rock.
Seriously, they watched our dogs for us when we went on vacation, they showered our front door with Girl Scout Cookies, they brought us back Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans from The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and oh so many other small things that make them the best neighbors we've EVER had!
I decided a small treat for being so sweet was in order!

Here Is What You'll Need:
 - 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 Tablespoon cinnamon
- 1/3 cup water
- 3 cups almonds...I'm planning to try this recipe again with wal-nuts soon!
In a large pan mix your sugar, cinnamon, and water.
 Add your almonds.
Over medium heat stir your almonds until well coated.
 Stir occassionally, but stand nearby.
After about 10-15 minutes you can remove your concoction from the heat.
Carefully pour your mixture onto a piece of parchment paper and allow to cool for at least 30 minutes.
 Your house will smell divine.
Once completely cooled you can use your hands to break all the nuts apart.
After I've done that I like to let them sit for another 15 minutes to ensure they are totally cured.
Now bundle them up and tell your neighbor how awesome they are!
It works really well if they happen to be watching a movie and you know in your heart of hearts that they need a snack to enhance their experience!!!

What kinds of things do you do to show appreciation for the special people in your life?
It only takes a moment and I promise you'll make someone's day just a little bit brighter!

I hope you have a Blessed Tuesday!

  1. Drooling... I have Almonds as a mid morning snack everyday. Maybe I can have these as a late afternoon treat?! :)
