Baby Diaries #27

We had another appointment today.
The beginning of weekly appointments.
Everything started out very normal.
I weighed in.
Got my blood pressure done.
Told them I wasn't experiencing any pain or discomfort.
And then we were escorted to a room to wait for the nurse.

Today was one of those fun days.
The kind where once you are in the room they surprise you and tell you that your going to have a full exam today.
They want to get cultures to check for any infection and such.
They want you to undress from the waist down and they'll be back shortly.
I honestly don't mind these kind of exams.
So after the legs in stirrup portion of the exam the nurse did a physical exam and confirmed my suspicion.
Bitsy has dropped.
This is good news because last time we confirmed she was head down and now we know we are still progressing as we should.
The next bit of news was what made my jaw hit the floor.
She told me that I'm already dilated to 3.
If you didn't know, full dilation occurs at 10 centimeters, so I'm about 1/3 of the way there.
I looked at Bud and this is around the time he mentions that it's a good thing we have our birthing class on Saturday.
Then the nurse had to say, "You might not make it to that class".
I just laughed.
I turned to Bud and said, "Well I guess we need to get the bags packed tomorrow morning so we are ready".
The nurse also informed me, however, that many women dilate and then stay at one point for weeks.
So technically I could walk around until or after my due date dilated to 3 cm and it wouldn't be abnormal.

BUT

It also means that I could have this baby ANY DAY now.
Bud's new prediction is Monday September 12th.
I'm not going to make a prediction, I might be in a state of denial right now, hahaha!
This is so humorous to me right now.
The fact that I've been blessed with the easiest pregnancy is just that, a blessing.
Bud & My Mother both feel that it's an indication that I'll have a quick and relatively easy labor & delivery.

I'm going to say a quick prayer that God's timing will be perfect.
It always is and I have no doubt that we'll be 'ready' when the time comes.
I already know what I want to post about for the next few days, but there is a chance that these postings won't happen.
IF by chance I am gone for a few days it may be because I've gone into labor....
I'll do my best to let y'all know as soon as I can, maybe Bud will jump on and post the announcement for me!

Thank you all for your love and support!
I hope you had a BLESSED Thursday!

This week's verse to memorize:

"O Lord, your unfailing love fills the earth; teach me your decrees." ~Psalm 119:64

  3. Oh oh OH!!! I am so excited for you!!! The exact same thing happened to me when I was pregs with my first baby. I went in a week before my due date and I was 3 cm dialated. Totally shocked me. I was not ready to have that baby yet, lol! I went into labor that night! And I had her the next morning!!!
Prayers and Blessings to you, Biz!

  4. That's soo exciting!!! You will be an awesome mommy!!! We had to induce Caleb because he was getting SO big and did not want to come out. He was born on his due date at least. I only pushed for 20 minutes before he came out, the doctor was checking on me on her way to a c-section and had to postpone the c-section for an hour because Caleb came so quickly! :) Good luck my friend!!!
