Bits and Pieces...

of a random day.
My mother-in-law arrived in town last night!
She is staying with us until Bitsy arrives and then she will probably move to a hotel.
It's wonderful, because, when Bud goes to work at night I have someone here who could rush me to the hospital should the need arise.
It helps put Bud's mind at ease and my MIL is excited as she can't wait to meet her 1st grandchild!
This morning we passed the time by playing 'Jenga' (it was actually the knock off brand, but fun none-the-less).
There is a lot of strategy required for this game.
Everyone was secretly hoping that when the tower fell I'd get
startled and go into labor, haha!
Listening intently to his Mom telling a story.
Again with the strategy!

The rest of the day was filled with grocery shopping, cooking dinner, and a little extra crafting!
I finished the NEW "A" for Bitsy's Rag Wreath.
Technically I still need to distress this to give it a
more beachy feel.
However, I like this "A" much
better as it pops a little more against
the wreath.
"Okay Bitsy...I'm done crafting for you, for the time
being....you can come out now".
(I'm just kidding, she is on her own time and I am okay with that!)

I also decided that all this crafting for Bitsy had left me with some extra fabric and nothing for myself....so I took the 20 minutes tonight to make myself a new rosette headband!
Yeah for a new headband!
The easiest accessory to any outfit.

This headband has prompted me to think about a few more items for Bitsy, however.
For example a few gifts that Bitsy have received included newborn beanies representing both the University of Texas and Kansas State University.
If worn with a simple onesie...I'm afraid she may be mistaken for a little boy.
Luckily I have both UT and KSU fabric and so I plan to make some little flowers to attach to said beanies, just one way to girl-ify them!

I hope you all had a Blessed Tuesday!

This week's verse to memorize:

"Who is wise and understanding among you? Let him show it by his good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom." ~James 3:13

  5. I stumbled across your blog from the Delightful Order link party and I've been having fun reading through your posts. I love the rag wreath, it is such a sweet item. Also, I had to laugh when I read on your side bar that you don't know where your husband's nickname came from but somehow it stuck. My husband's name is Sam but I have called him Joe since we were dating! No idea why, but it's just stuck! Glad to know I'm not the only person that does that! Okay, this is a long comment I know, but just wanted to let you know that I am following you now!
