Baby Diaries #20

This will be a very short entry today, but it was something that warranted it's own post.
My first encounter with someone saying something completely off the wall to me.

While grocery shopping at Wal-mart today I encountered 3 women.
As I walked past them one of them said to the others, "That girl looks like she's going into labor RIGHT now".
I didn't think much of it until they stopped me and told me this directly.
"You look like you are in labor right now"!
My response, "I sure hope not, it'd be a little early".
She insisted that it did and then told me that I was HUGE.
Interesting I pondered to myself, I don't feel huge.
When I look in the mirror I don't appear huge in my own eyes.
In fact recent pictures of me make me look bigger than I see myself.

I told her, "I've only gained about 26lbs and if this little one comes soon she'll weigh less than 4lbs, so I hope I don't have her soon".
Her reply was, "No girl you are huge and your gonna have that baby any day now".
I politely giggled and assured her we still had about 8 weeks and I would hold out if I had my way.
Here is the kicker, her response, "8 weeks?  That's only a month early, you could have that baby and it'll be fine".
I'm sure you couldn't read it on my face, but let me assure you I QUICKLY did the math and remembered that on no calendars that I've seen has 8 weeks ever been equivalent to 1 month.
Eventually, after a few more comments about my size and impending labor, we went our separate ways.
I have not been able to stop laughing at these statements.
I look like I'm in labor.
I'm huge.
HA HA HA HA HA HA!
Oh, did I forget to mention that this woman had 3 children with her?
I'm not sure if they were all hers or not, but I would assume at least one was, leading me to believe that at one point she was pregnant and should know the appropriate gestation time of a wee little one.
Oh well, it gave me a good laugh!
