Bible Verse Friday #32

"Don't you realize that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and was given to you by God?  You do not belong to yourself, for God bought you with a high price.  So you must honor God with your body." ~1 Corinthians 6:19-20

This body does not belong to me.
I have always known that I should treat my body as a temple, but maybe it wasn't until I was pregnant that I truly understood that this body is not mine.
That may sound silly, but sharing your body with another life is a small indication of how God must feel sharing his son with us.
There are times that he is so joyous and content watching us move throughout our days.
There are times when he is mildly uncomfortable as we stretch our boundaries.
There are times when God must feel the pain as we tear away from his will for us, as we pay no regard for the sacrifice his son made for us.

We must remember on a daily basis that this body is not ours, but HIS.
We must care for our bodies as best as we can.
Some people get caught up on how we present our bodies....clothing, hair, makeup, piercings, tattoos....but that's judgement that we need not pass.
God will convict everyone of different things and I've met plenty of people who radiate God's love in spite of how people perceive their exterior.
My view on tattoos is this....if my body is a temple....I'm just adding a few stain glass windows!
My 1st Tattoo- April 2007 for our 4 year anniversary.
Bud got the same thing in the same place!
My 2nd Tattoo- May 2010 a gift to myself after graduating
with my Associates Degree.  (located on my left side)
In addition this extends beyond just eating healthy, working out, and making sure we get the rest that our bodies crave.
Although all of those things should be priorities in taking care of the bodies we were blessed with, I think what God finds most important is that we fill our bodies with his spirit!
HIS WORD.
If we fill these bodies with everything good and everything GOD than it only seems that God and good will pour out of us onto everyone we meet.
So this week I encourage each and everyone of you to ACT:
A- adoration or a time of praising God for who HE is.
C- confessing our sins
T- thanksgiving to God for specific things HE has done.

And remember that this body you live in is borrowed so make sure you return it as good if not better than HE lent it to you.
Have a Blessed Friday!

P.S. I have ANOTHER new follower!  38 wonderful glorious followers!  Please know that each and everyone of you blesses me and I hope that I can occasionally return the favor!
