Bible Verse Friday #31

"The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand." ~Psalm 119:130

How beautifully simple.
"Your word gives light".....it's only a few verses prior to this where it says:
"Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path."~Psalm 119:105
He gives us a path and the light to find it.
If we read and believe his word than we will be able to find the path in which he wants us to follow, thus making our daily decisions easier.
Knowing which ones are of our desires and which ones of his desires for us.


"..even the simple can understand"
Reading his word doesn't mean that you need to be a rocket scientist.
Jesus used parables to make points easy to understand.
There are 10 simple commandments...

God is not cruel.
He is loving and kind.
God would not create a labyrinth with more dead ends than ways out just to watch us stumble and get lost.
"Take my yoke upon you.  Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light". ~Matthew 11:29-30
We are the ones who make living life more difficult that it needs to be.
We are the ones who allow earthy desires to distract us from his will.

Take a moment this weekend to reflect on simplicity.
The sun rising and setting.
The breeze in the grass.
Your pet lounging lazily nearby.
Etc, etc, etc.
"The teaching of your word gives light, so even the simple can understand."
Find the light and find peace.

P.S. Tomorrow Bud's & My mother's are throwing us a baby shower.  We won't actually be in attendance, being that we live 19+ hrs away, but we might get to Skype in.  It's our last shower before Bitsy get's here and we are so so so excited!
