For years and years I used a 4 blade razor to shave my legs.
I loved how smooth my legs felt afterwards.
Then suddenly for no apparent reason I started getting horrible ingrown hairs.
Itchy.
Ugly.
Ingrown hairs.
I started to use different lotions and after shaves serums, but it didn't fix it.
Finally, I decided I was going to give up my expensive razors since they were just too painful at that point.
I switched to very inexpensive 2 blade razors.
Guess what.
The ingrown hairs stopped.
My legs still felt smooth after I shaved (at least until I got goosebumps...that's everyone right? I'm not alone here?).
It was magic.
Well that is my first tip to saving money when it comes to shaving.
Consider less expensive razors.
You'd be surprised that you might get the same results for a fraction of the cost.
My other recent tip.
Maybe I use too much, but I felt like I go through shaving cream faster than anyone I know!
Also those 'rust-proof' bottoms are a lie.
I am constantly scrubbing that rust circle off my tub each week.
So I decided it was time to give up the shaving cream.
*Gasp*
I know.
What would I use to shave my legs?
Well if you are like me you might have a basket or a secret stash somewhere in your house that contains lotions.
Lotions that you bought, but maybe didn't like the smell.
Or maybe they didn't do what they promised.
Or maybe you just have a lot of lotion and you don't think you'll ever use it all.
I grabbed one of those bottles of lotion and I started to use that on my legs.
Apply lotion.
Shave it off.
Silky smooth legs.
That's right.
I am now saving coupons to get my lotions for super cheap because:
A.) They last WAY longer than a can of shaving cream.
B.) No rust ring
C.) I know for a fact they are more moisturizing than moisturizing shave creams.
and the most important reason
D.) It's so much less expensive!!!
So if you have been thinking about how to save money in your house.
This might be one small area that you can cut back on.
You'll be amazed at how you can get by without the fancy schmancy shave creams and razors.
Plus I feel a lot less guilty when I throw out my razor now!
Well Bud get's home tonight, so I'm off to get the house prepped for his arrival!
I hope you have a Blessed Tuesday!
