We all hit crafting blocks from time to time and this was one of the first things I saw that I knew I needed to craft!
There were 2 main reasons I chose this project.
It was inexpensive and it was something that I knew I could do before the baby arrived.
Thank you A Diamond in the Stuff for posting this Halloween craft!
| Googly Eye {Halloween} Frame |
I'm going to post mine as I did a few variations.
Supplies
-Wood Frame $1
-Letters $0.19 x 3= $0.57
-Spider $0.29
-Gloss Paint (Black & Orange) $1.29 x 2= $2.58
-Flat Paint (Green) $0.79
-Moveable Eyes (assorted size) $2.99
Total $ 8.80 after tax
| Items I already had included the ribbon, foam paint brushes (you can get a 6 pack of these at Hobby Lobby for about $1, glue (hot or other) and a black & a white paint marker) |
Instructions
1. Paint all your parts
The Spider
The Letters
...and of course the frame.
2. Start gluing on the eyes
this is a tedious process and took a little longer than I anticipated!
Don't forget to glue your smallest eyes on your spider
(should you choose to a spider, Michael's had other shapes as well, Witch Hats, Cat Silhouettes, etc)
3. Add the small details
I added a little spider smile using a paint marker...
...and polka dots to my EEK also with a paint marker.
I'm sure you could do this with the paint you purchased too.
I added some purple ribbon down the side.
4. Finish!
Here you can see that I glued my letters and spider onto the ribbon.
Also I printed off a graphic of a spider web for the middle opening.
Next year I might replace it with a picture of our little one's first Halloween!
I hope everyone is starting to feel inspired to start their own Halloween & Fall crafts!
Thank you Courtney for your awesome tutorial and for inspiring me to get crafty!
I hope everyone had a Blessed Saturday!
This week's verse to memorize:
"Teach the older men to exercise self-control, to be worthy of respect, and to live wisely. They must have sound faith and be filled with love and patience."~ Titus 2:2
